Harrisburg Library Board Open Positions

The Harrisburg Library Board currently has two open positions.  One for term ending June 30, 2025 and one ending June 30, 2028. If you are interested in applying, please fill out and submit a Board and Committee Application,  available below, to lross@ci.harrisburg.or.us by December 30, 2024.  Please see below for more information about the Library Board.   

The Library Board is an advisory board to the City Council. The board's primary responsibilities are:

  • To formulate rules and policies for the library
  • Review and recommend to the City Council needed library services
  • Recommend appropriate dues and fines for library services
  • Formulate and approve Library Program Suggestions

The Library Board meets every other month at 5:30pm in the Municipal Center.  To confirm an upcoming meeting, please contact Lori Ross at 541-995-6655, or visit the City calendar. 

The Library Board is comprised of five members appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The terms of office are four years with at least one open position every year.

We invite the public to come to our meetings, and be part of making our Library great for the community!   We always welcome people to come and be involved in our meetings...you don't have to be a member to want a great Library, and your feedback is a wonderful resource for us!
