Utility Billing Payments and Resources
If you'd like to discuss your bill, or have any questions, please contact Utility Billing staff at 541-995-6655. To help avoid additional fees, please call City Hall if your payment is going to be late.
Tips on optimizing household water use can be found at: https://www.epa.gov/watersense
Is your water bill higher than usual? Even a tiny leak can add up to a sizable water bill. Leaking toilets are often the culprit where leaks are concerned. Toilets can make a running water sound or be silent while leaking. You can add some food color to the tank and let it sit for 10+ minutes. If the color shows in the bowl, you have a leak. (Be sure to flush afterward to avoid staining the tank.) You can also check for fitting and fixture leaks under sinks, cabinets, walls and underneath the house. Check outside as well to make sure irrigation is off and faucets are tightly closed. If a leak cannot be found, the next step is to contact a plumber for assistance.
Need help paying your water bill? Customers struggling with paying their bills might be able to find help from a local agency, including the following:
- Fish - 541-928-4460
- Community Outreach - 541-758-3000
- CSC - 541-926-7163
- Salvation Army - 541-928-4774
- Effective March 1st, 2022, the City of Harrisburg has signed on with Community Services Consortium (CSC) for a Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program. This program is Federally funded and will run through September 30, 2023, or when funds run out, whichever comes first. To find out if you are eligible for this water utility assistance, please contact Linn County CSC at 541-704-7632 or 541-926-7163. Assistance is available year-round, and does not require a shut-off notice or past due bill.
Assistance takes time, so reach out for help before your services are disconnected.
