Parks Master Plan Project is Complete!
Harrisburg Parks System Plan October 2022
The Harrisburg Parks System Plan was adopted at the October 25, 2022 City Council Work Session. Harrisburg Parks System Plan is a guiding vision for the parks system and provides direction for both short- and long-range planning. The Plan documents the research, analysis, and community involvement processes specifically designed to identify system assets and needs, and includes the resulting goals, policies, recommendations,
and implementation measures to guide the future development and management of the parks and recreation system over the next 20 years. The Plan was prepared in collaboration with City of Harrisburg staff, the Harrisburg City
Council, and community residents.
The Parks Master Plan is a great resource for the City. It helps us to prioritize which work should be completed in each park and will guide the future budgets that we work on. More importantly, it will help the City to complete parks projects that are important to our citizens. It will also help staff to apply for future grants, based upon the costs and projects that are detailed in the Parks Master Plan.
Staff would like to thank Colin McArthur and his staff for all of their hard work and efforts in working with our City to complete the Master Parks System Plan and Capital Improvement Plan! The 2022 Harrisburg Parks Master Plan is provided below. If you have any questions, please contact City Administrator, Michele Eldridge at 541-995-1303, or by email at meldridge@ci.harrisburg.or.us.
