Business and Rental Licenses
Harrisburg welcomes new business opportunities. The business license application below is for standard commercial, industrial and manufacturing businesses, as well as residential rental licenses.
Commercial and Industrial Business Licenses: The City of Harrisburg does require a business license for all businesses operating in the City of Harrisburg. Once you have applied for a license, businesses will be invoiced once a year. Benefits include your contact information being listed in our business directory. In addition, the City gives a small grant to cover 1/2 of the first year charges for a business to join the Tri-County Chamber. After the first year, it will be the responsibility of the business to pay the total charge. The fee is based on the number of employees in your business. Commercial and Industrial businesses may only be located in the C-1, C-2, M-1 and M-2 zones for the City. Please see the City's ordinances for the types of businesses that are allowed in each of the zones.
Rental Licenses: All rentals, whether residential or commercial inside the city limits for Harrisburg, are required to obtain a business license. You will be charged a fee dependent upon the number of rental units you have in town. The same license form is used for all businesses.
Temporary Licenses: All businesses, including temporary businesses, are required to obtain a business license. We typically see temporary booths for seasonal products, such as Christmas Trees, or Fireworks. These temporary businesses must be located in a C-1 or C-2 zone. The same license form below, is used for all businesses.
