Public Records Requests

Oregon public records law grants citizens the right to inspect the records of a public body unless it is exempt from disclosure.  We value transparency in the City of Harrisburg, and will always respond to public records requests within a timely manner.  If we are able to respond to your request within a time frame of up to fifteen minutes, and can send the information you are requesting electronically, there will generally not be a charge for the time spent.  Please note that the City is not required to provide information that doesn't already exist in it's records, nor is it required to provide information in a report that doesn't already exist.  Requests that are submitted more than a month prior to the availability of the requested data will be denied, and you will need to re-apply for them.

Contact the City Recorder, or the City Administrator, if you wish to obtain information from the City of Harrisburg, or you may fill out the Public Records Request Form to submit your request.  Public Disclosure Requests that exceed $25 in value will be required to be pre-paid by the requestor, based on an estimate of how much time the research will take.  You will be contacted by the City if the actual research time will extend beyond the time estimated.

The Oregon Attorney General publishes FAQ's in relation to Public Records Requests; you can find their website by following this linkhttps://www.doj.state.or.us/oregon-department-of-justice/public-records/attorney-generals-public-records-and-meetings-manual-2014/attorney-generals-public-records-and-meetings-manual-2014-public-records-law-appendix-a/
