Volunteer on a City Board or Committee
Streets, businesses and houses may make a city, but it takes volunteers to have a community. We are fortunate to have many great citizens help out in our City in many different ways. Our City could literally not function without you. Volunteers find great satisfaction in serving others and their community. One component of that satisfaction is that the volunteers work in areas that interest them.
We encourage you to find one of the ways to serve your community and neighbors that is of interest to you. To apply for a City Board or Committee position, please complete and submit the Board & Committee Application Form at the bottom of this page. If no phone number is listed, call City Hall at 541-995-6655.
If you would like to be a City volunteer, without serving on a board or committee, then we'd love to have you! Please follow this link to the volunteer page. Volunteer at the City There is a volunteer application packet available.
City Council
You can run for election to be a City Councilor. The City Council is the governing body of the City and makes local laws and policy. You may also be selected to fill a vacancy on the Council by the Mayor, when one occurs.
Planning Commission
Apply to be on the Planning Commission. This decision-making body works to shape the future development of the City. The Commission meets once a month, on the 3rd Tuesday.
Committees
You can apply to be on the Budget Committee or Library Board. These committees focus on specific areas of expertise for the City. We encourage you ask us more about these committees before you apply!
Please, Volunteer! Help your city reach its potential.
Remember to say 'Thank You' to those who volunteer in your community. Most volunteers say, 'It's nothing,' but when you add up all of the help provided by volunteers, it makes an incredible difference!
