The ideal candidate has municipal experience, and performs highly complex, analytical, technical and administrative tasks.  Main job duties include those related to the functions of the City Recorder’s Office, such as maintenance of official city records and Council actions.  (S)he is also responsible for human resources (generalist), elections, addressing, and risk management duties for the City, as well as issuance of Building Permits, and partially supervising two employees. The full job description is included with this application packet; please note that some night work is required for City Council and Committee meetings.

Desired qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in communications, public administration or business administration, and a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience at a municipality, or the education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.  A Certified Municipal Clerk Designation is required within a five-year period, and the candidate must become a Notary Public within one year.  Familiarity with Oregon Public Records Retention, and the Caselle software system is desired, but not required. Pay is competitive with excellent benefits. Annual salary level of $43,890 to $57,756 DOE.

What kind of experience do you have with administering and maintaining websites, and/or social media. 3.) Describe your familiarity with public records disclosure laws and records retention in the State of Oregon.  4.) Indicate what level of experience or knowledge you may have in relation to building permits and building code.
