Council Member Rob Boese
Title: City Councilor
Name: Robert (Rob) Boese
Current Term: Jan 1, 2021 to Dec 31, 2024
Council/Government Experience: Rob served on the Harrisburg Planning Commission for years prior to 1999. He became the Chairperson of the Planning Commission from 2002 to 2005, when he was appointed to the City Council. He served a term ending Dec 31, 2008, and then ran for election. He served that term until December 9, 2009, and was also on the Public Works Committee. Rob was reappointed again to an open position on April 28, 2010, and has served continuously since then. He has started his 3rd full term as a City Councilor. Rob served on the Parks Committee, where he was the Chairperson for several years, as well as on the Government Committee, where he chaired from October 2012 to December 2015. He also served as an alternate on the board of the Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments from 2014 to 2016. Rob has also served as a board member of the Oregon Groundwater Association.
Current Committee Assignments: Personnel Committee, and Harrisburg Budget Committee.
Rob received his B.S. in Geography from OSU in 1987, and is currently an Environmental Driller/Geologic Associate/Environmental Field Technician with BB&A Environmental, where he has worked since 1990. Cartography and Environmental Field responsibilities were primarily his first duties at BB&A. In 1991, drilling became another division in BB&A, in which Rob became head driller of, for BB&A. Rob has performed numerous tasks and activities throughout his 28 year tenure. All HSA Drilling and Probing operations, all Field Sampling of soil, groundwater, storm water, leachate, etc., at UST cleanups, Landfills, Emergency Response incidents, and commercial and residential site assessments, investigations, and cleanups.
Rob has four children, three daughters and one son. Rob enjoys hiking, hunting, and playing with his Vizsla..."Tika". Rob loves his church, his family, and of course the "Beavs". In addition to his service to the City of Harrisburg, Rob has also been a member of the Obsidians hiking group in Eugene, OR.
