Groundbreaking Ceremony Eagle Park
Calendar Date:
GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY: May the 4th be with us, and with Mayor Duncan as he expertly wields the golden shovel, and we break ground at the dog park at 3:00pm on Thursday, May 4th. The Tri-County Chamber of Commerce will also be there with a ribbon cutting ceremony too! If you are interested in being a Dog Park Sponsor, and having your business name exhibited in the Park, please call Michele at 541-995-2200. (The City is working on how that program will work!) The groundbreaking ceremony will be held, rain or shine, right next to where the Dog Park will be located. Cake & Punch will be available until it’s gone. The Dog Park, at 43,000 sq. ft., will have an area fenced and set inside for small dogs, while the ‘big dog’s will have the run of the rest of the park.
To get to Eagle Park (Currently undeveloped), take S. 2nd St. down to Sommerville Ave (in the south industrial area of town), and take the right-hand driveway (dirt road) at the end of Sommerville Ave, and drive down the dirt/gravel road to the park. While people are excited about work that is being done, please be aware that most of the work on the dog park will occur later in the summer and fall, as we can’t apply the grant money to work that has already been done. The trail, on the other hand, is something that we will be working on right away! We are all so excited about getting started on development on our wonderful new park.
We hope you can join us!
